Trenino Verde
From Planargia to Marghine
by Trenino Verde (Green Train), from Bosa to Macomer
From the Bosa Marina station, a journey with a taste of old times  begins, aboard the legendary Trenino Verde, between the clatter of the rails and the salty embrace of the sea.
The convoy starts slowly, as if it wants to give the heart time to tune into the poetry of the landscape. Leaving behind the coast, where the deep blue of the sea meets the golden shades of the sand, opens before us the green valley of Modolo, embroidered with olive groves, orchards and ancient vineyards. You enter the heart of the land of Malvasia, where vines cling to the slopes as silent guardians of a centuries-old tradition. It crosses Tresnuraghes and you see in the distance Magomadas, and  Flussio and Suni Romantic landscapes accompany us on the way to Tinnura, a small village and open-air museum. Its streets are animated by lively murals, which tell the authentic Sardinia: scenes of peasant life, ancient legends, daily gestures transformed into art.
Here (12:15) you stop for a convivial break. A buffet with local specialties (breads, cold cuts and cheeses, including especially the fresh ricotta, typical sweets made of almonds and honey, to be enjoyed with the famous Malvasia di Bosa, sweet and enveloping as a childhood memory), which is worth the lunch of the day.
The train starts again, climbing gently along a basaltic plateau, where the view is lost between expanses of pastures, dry walls and grazing flocks. It is an intimate Sardinia, suspended in time, where the ancient pastoral traditions are perceived in what surrounds us.
The journey continues until the last stop, before arrival. We will descend from the Green Train to a place full of spirituality and history: the Cistercian Abbey of Santa Maria di Corte, built in 1147. We are in the silence of the countryside and in the silence, that hermit they chose at the time to witness faith and perseverance. At 15:25 you arrive at the railway station of Macomer, the most important of the historic line and today the arrival point of this poetic journey on the narrow-gauge track. A short stop allows you to see the much historical rolling stock present here. At 16:00 we leave for a quick return to Bosa, on a comfortable bus with air conditioning, which closes the loop route of this day, which never ends giving multifaceted aspects of a special Sardinia.
