From Marghine to Planargia

From the Marghine region to the Planargia, the leisurely journey—both outbound and return—takes place aboard a historic railway train. A 1950s diesel locomotive pulls vintage carriages (the “V2D” from the 1930s–50s or the Baucchiero coaches from 1912–18), or alternatively, you travel on the characteristic diesel-electric railcars (“Ade”, class of the 1960s).
The Trenino Verde winds along narrow-gauge tracks, still laid on wooden sleepers, offering an authentic and evocative experience. Along the route, you will encounter several rural stations, including Santa Maria, home to the Cistercian abbey built in 1147; Tinnura, a village enriched with beautiful murals; and Tresnuraghes, perched between sea and mountains, where we will stop to explore and enjoy some refreshments.
During the journey, we cross the territories of Magomadas, Flussio, and Suni, passing through wind-shaped cork oak forests, unusual vineyards, and wide stretches of grain fields. Your dedicated guide will bring every moment of the day to life, including encounters with railway workers and winemakers.
This will be a unique opportunity to spend a truly extraordinary day, starting with the historic train itself. The return trip in the late afternoon will offer new sensations and the scents of the Mediterranean scrub. A rich and varied experience full of activities and emotions.

09:57 departure again on the Trenino Verde, passing through the territory and the town of Sindia;
10:40 arrival at Tinnura station, where there will be another stop to visit the village with its many murals, telling the past and present of these lands;
11:20 departure on the Trenino Verde again, with Suni in the background, crossing the areas of Modolo and Magomadas before reaching Tresnuraghes;
12:10 we get off at the station and, with a short walk among ancient houses, olive groves, and vineyards, we will reach a seaside refreshment point to taste the catch of the day;
14:00 departure again on the Trenino Verde, with an already different, unexpected atmosphere;
16:10 arrival at Macomer railway station, where we say goodbye to the guide and conclude the day.
